KITTS (April 5th, 2011) – The Bigger, Better Network recently supported two community events on the island of St. Kitts, through sponsorship in cash and kind. Digicel is a brand committed to community development, and to this end, the people of Verchilds and Sandy Point have benefited from sponsorship from the Bigger, Better Network.
Digicel, in association with Pull Phactor Entertainment recently staged the first ever “Digicel Verchilds High School Mega Star Search”, on the night of Friday 11th March, 2011, at the Verchilds Playing Field. This event initiated a week of activities held in the Verchilds community in an effort to provide uniforms for the Verchilds High School Interschool Track Team. Digicel was pleased to provide prizes in the form of cell phones, complimentary credit, trophies and Digicel-branded merchandise to the winner and runner-ups of the competition. Ten students of the High School, clad in Digicel-branded t-shirts, braved the stage and performed brilliantly for the many supporters in the crowd.
For the month of April, the people of Sandy Point will be celebrating their community festival, “Black San’ Bang-A-Lang”, with the support of Digicel. Digicel handsets will be awarded to the winners of “King A De San” & “Miss Black San”. In addition, prizes will be awarded to participants of the Bike-A-Thon, and complimentary top-ups given out throughout the duration of the festival. Digicel wishes to congratulate SPIRIT, a very young a dynamic group responsible for the revival of this community festival.
In expressing congratulatory remarks, Marketing Manager, Marsha Lindo said that “Digicel is happy to be a part of both of these community events and wishes them every success.” She also said that “Digicel is excited to be partnering with these two entities as they do their very best in developing and strengthening our communities.”
