Digicel commits to Education in St. Kitts
DIGICEL MAKES CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION
Primary School Guidance Counsellors receive cell phones
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (February 10th, 2011) – Staying true to Digicel’s commitment to the development of youth and education within St. Kitts and Nevis, on February 3rd, 2011, 12 Nokia handsets were handed over to Ms. Debra Matthews. She received the Digicel handsets on behalf of guidance counsellors from the primary schools in St. Kitts.
In accepting the handsets, Ms. Matthews informed that the Digicel handsets will be used as a communication tool for the guidance counsellors to keep in touch with the parents and families of the children enrolled in the schools. Ms. Matthews thanked Digicel for stepping up and recognizing the importance of the counselling program in the schools, as it helps in providing emotional support to the young children.
Digicel was also pleased to offer free Closed User Group service and Drip credit to the guidance counsellors for the next 6 months. Ms. Marsha Lindo, Marketing Manager of Digicel St. Kitts Nevis firmly stated that, “Digicel St. Kitts and Nevis has over the years contributed to the development of youth and education in the federation and continues to give back to this cause.”
